Quantum algorithm for gravitational-wave matched filtering

Quantum computational devices currently under development have the potential to accelerate data analysis techniques beyond ability of any classical algorithm. We propose application a quantum algorithm for detection unknown signals in noisy data. apply Grover's matched filtering, signal processing technique that compares number candidate templates. In comparison method, this provides speedup proportional square root templates, which would make possible otherwise intractable searches. demonstrate both proof-of-principle circuit implementation and simulation algorithm's gravitational wave GW150914. discuss time complexity space requirements our as well its implications computationally limited searches continuous waves.
